Última Clio piatkowskii, a mesopelagic pteropod new to science (Gastropoda, Opisthobranchia) Naturalis Spoel, S. van der; Schalk, P.H.; Bleeker, J.. A pteropod species new to science: Clio piatkowskii is described from benthopelagic samples taken in high Antarctic waters of the Weddell Sea. Comparisons with related species are made and its taxonomic place in the genus Clio is discussed. The worldwide distribution of Euphausiacea is related to differences in character states found in the genera belonging to this order. An area cladogram is composed. The vicariant events postulated in this study made it possible to distinguish between different “hydroplates” of the “hydrotectonic (cf.
